Hey Toyota Racing Fans,
CHARLOTTE RACE REWIND: In Sunday night's NASCAR® Sprint Cup Series™ (NSCS) race at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Camry drivers Kyle Busch (third) and David Reutimann (fifth) finished in the top-five in the 600-mile event. Busch led twice for 36 laps to earn his seventh straight top-10 finish that enabled him to close the gap in the NSCS point standings. He remains in second, trailing leader Kevin Harvick by just 29 points. Reutimann led twice for three laps and notched his third top-10 and second consecutive fifth-place finish of the season. Toyota drivers Denny Hamlin (fifth), Martin Truex Jr. (14th), Joey Logano (18th) and Reutimann (19th) are also in the top-20 in points after 13 of 36 races.
This weekend:
Denny Hamlin returns to Pocono Raceway this weekend looking for his fourth win at the Pennsylvania track. In his 2006 rookie season, Hamlin earned the pole and the win in both NASCAR® Sprint Cup Series™ races held at Pocono -- including his first career Cup Series victory.
The NASCAR® Nationwide Series™ will head to Nashville Superspeedway this weekend, where just two months ago five Camry drivers earned top-10 finishes at the 1.33-mile concrete oval -- Sorenson (second), Busch (third), Logano (eighth), Michael Annett (ninth) and Brendan Gaughan (10th).
Tundra drivers have won seven of the 12 NASCAR® Camping World Truck Series™ races at Texas Motor Speedway since entering the series in 2004. Tundra driver Todd Bodine has the most victories at Texas with five and also has one pole position.
In NHRA, Larry Dixon will be looking to extend his streak of five consecutive semi-final or better appearances this weekend at the Route 66 Raceway.
