Toyota Racing: Three in a Row at Michigan International Speedway?

Hey Race Fans,

The NASCAR® Sprint Cup Series™ and Nationwide Series™ are in Michigan this weekend! Toyota drivers have won the last two Sprint Cup races at Michigan International Speedway... Brian Vickers earned the first NSCS win for Red Bull Racing Team one year ago and Denny Hamlin won the most recent race there in June. Check out the race to see if they will pull off three in row.

The NASCAR® Camping World Truck Series™ will return to South Carolina's Darlington Raceway this weekend for the first time since 2004. Watch the race to see if a Toyota driver will bring home a win from the "Lady in Black."

And the NHRA will be in Brainerd for the NHRA Lucas Oil Nationals concluding the regular season in preparation for the Countdown. Five of the total six Toyota-supported Top Fuel drivers have already clinched a berth into the Countdown; Cruz Pedregon could see himself competing for the Championship with a victory this weekend.

Schedule:

NASCAR® Sprint Cup Series™ -- Michigan International Speedway, Sunday, August 15 @ 1:00 PM (ET), ESPN -- Race 23 of 36

NASCAR® Nationwide Series™ -- Michigan International Speedway, Saturday, August 14 @ 2:00 PM (ET), ESPN -- Race 23 of 35

NASCAR® Camping World Truck Series™ -- Darlington Raceway, Saturday, August 14 @ 7:30 PM (ET), SPEED -- Race 15 of 25

NHRA Lucas Oil Nationals -- Brainerd International Raceway, Sunday Eliminations, August 15 @ 11:00 PM - 1:00 AM. (ET)

Toyota Racing: August Fast Forward. The Bristol Night Race!

Hey Toyota Racing Fans,

It's August and the dog days of summer are officially upon us. This month is when championship contenders begin to separate themselves from the pretenders, and the racing season kicks into high gear for the stretch drive. Of course, for the NASCAR® Sprint Cup Series™, that means racing under the bright lights of Bristol Motor Speedway and one final push to make "The Chase," while the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series also winds down its regular season and prepares for the "Countdown To The Championship."

To keep up with all the latest news in the world of Toyota Racing, become a frequent visitor to ToyotaRacing.com!

COMING UP… THE BRISTOL NIGHT RACE AND THE END OF THE NHRA REGULAR SEASON!
Everybody in the NASCAR® Sprint Cup Series™ will tell you that the Daytona 500 is unquestionably the biggest race of the season and the Brickyard 400 is the second biggest. That may be the case, but one would be hard pressed to find a more popular event, for competitors and fans alike, than the annual race under the lights at Bristol Motor Speedway.

The annual 500-lap battle around the ultra high-banked, .533-mile oval in East Tennessee is a spectacle unlike any other in the world of motorsports, and Toyota racer Kyle Busch is the race's defending champion.

It's NASCAR® racing at its absolute best inside what can only be described as a racing "stadium." This year's IRWIN Tools Night Race is scheduled for Saturday, August 21. Click here to get your tickets now and be a part of the action!

Of course, Bristol caps an important month for the Sprint Cup Series, as drivers and teams make their final push toward being one of 12 competitors in the all-important Chase for the Sprint Cup, which kicks off next month. Also on the docket for the Cup Series this month are the second and final road-course event of the 2010 season at Watkins Glen International on August 8 and the second trip to Michigan International Speedway on August 15.

While the Sprint Cup Series combatants jockey for position in the Chase standings, this month will also see a lot of battling for position before the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series "Countdown To The Championship" gets rolling next month as well. In Top Fuel, everybody will be battling for the No. 2 seed in Brainerd, Minnesota, on the weekend of August 12-15, because Toyota-supported racer Larry Dixon has already sewn up the No. 1 spot.

Check out how Dixon pulled it off and get up to speed with all of the Toyota-supported Top Fuel and Funny Car racers. And don't miss any of the action from Brainerd, which is the final race before the Countdown begins.

August is an extremely busy month for the NASCAR® Nationwide Series as the series visits a pair of road courses this month at Watkins Glen on August 7 and Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in Montreal on August 29. The Nationwide Series new car makes its second appearance of the season at Michigan on August 14, one week before the annual Nationwide Series show under the lights at Bristol on August 20.

It's an equally busy month for the NASCAR® Camping World Truck Series with races at Nashville on August 7, Darlington on August 14, Bristol on August 18 and Chicagoland Speedway on August 27. Those will be critical events for championship leader Todd Bodine and his fellow Truck Series competitors.

The second half of the TRAXXAS TORC Off-Road Championship Series gets rolling this month at Bark River International Raceway in Bark River, Michigan, on August 14-15 and at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Illinois, on August 25-26.

Fans of Toyota's USAC programs will want to keep tabs on USAC races:

USAC National Silver Crown Championship
- Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan, on August 12
- Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield, Illinois, on August 21

USAC National Sprint Car Series
- Knoxville, Iowa - August 8
- Oskaloosa, Iowa - August 10
- Salem, Indiana - August 14
- Winchester, Indiana - August 22

USAC National Midget Championship
- Sun Prairie, Wisconsin - August 28 and 29.

ONE TO WATCH: DAVID REUTIMANN

David Reutimann (Photo credit: LAT)

He's known by his Michael Waltrip Racing teammates as "The Franchise," and he's hoping he'll be known as one of the 12 drivers in the "Chase for the Sprint Cup"; in a little over a month. He's the one and only David Reutimann, driver of the No. 00 Aaron's Dream Machine Toyota Camry.

Reutimann picked up his second career Sprint Cup Series victory last month at Chicagoland Speedway, and ToyotaRacing.com recently caught up with the Floridian for this story.

ANOTHER ONE TO WATCH: ROBBY GORDON

Robby Gordon (Photo credit: LAT)

Robby Gordon's racing resume features an outstanding record of success on road circuits over the years. He's also one of the only owner/drivers in the Sprint Cup Series, but that hasn't stopped Gordon from pushing his No. 7 Toyota Camry to the absolute limit. More on Robby Gordon and his team.

ON THE WEB: SPONSAFIER 2
Time is running out for you to enter the Sponsafier 2 contest as the deadline for entries is August 20. The first Sponsafier contest drew more than 84,000 entries. All indications are that the contest continues to be popular with NASCAR and Toyota fans, and competition is tough.

The Grand Prize winner will be on hand to see his or her design showcased at the NASCAR® Sprint Cup Series™ Kobalt Tools 500 at Phoenix International Raceway on the weekend of November 7, and great prizes await all of the finalists.

Create your own piece of racing art and "Sponsafy Your Ride" before time runs out!

REWIND... TOYOTA SWEEPS CHICAGOLAND, DIXON TAKES SONOMA AND GREAVES TAKES OVER THE TORC POINTS LEAD

July was another outstanding month throughout the Toyota Racing family. At Chicagoland Speedway, drivers Kyle Busch and David Reutimann combined to sweep the weekend for Toyota, with Busch taking the Nationwide Series victory on the evening of July 10 and Reutimann scoring a popular Sprint Cup Series victory some 24 hours later. Check out video highlights from Reutimann's victory, and read the full report from the successful weekend.

Busch continued his winning ways in the Nationwide Series at O'Reilly Raceway Park near Indianapolis on July 24. One night earlier, Busch took home a second-place trophy following the Camping World Truck Series race, also at ORP.

The past month also saw red hot Al-Anabi Racing NHRA Top Fuel driver Larry Dixon pick up his eighth victory of the season at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California. Read all about Dixon's most recent triumph.

While fellow Toyota driver Rick Huseman got off to a quick start in the TRAXXAS TORC Off-Road Championship Series in June, the month of July belonged to Johnny Greaves. The driver of the Monster Energy/Toyota/MasterCraft Tundra swept the doubleheader in Bark River, Michigan early in the month and a pair of top-five results in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, enabled him to continue his lead in the PRO 4X4 championship standings. Check out the report for more on Greaves' midsummer successes in off-road racing.
