Toyota Racing: Superspeedway Success

Hey Toyota Racing Fans,

LOOKING BACK AT LOUDON: In last Sunday's NASCAR® Sprint Cup Series™ (NSCS) race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, 2009 race winner Joey Logano (ninth) was the highest-finishing Camry driver at the one-mile New England oval. Logano started 11th in the Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) No. 20 Home Depot Toyota and earned his seventh top-10 finish in 17 starts this season.

RECORD BREAKER: Busch moved into a second-place tie on the all-time NASCAR® Nationwide Series™ (NNS) win list (36) with his victory last Saturday afternoon at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Busch started fourth and led six times for 126 (of 200) laps and became the series' all-time lap leader. The 25-year-old Las Vegas native has now led 8,117 laps in 186 career NNS races, surpassing the 8,023 laps led by Mark Martin. Logano (fourth) and Trevor Bayne (fifth) also recorded top-five finishes for Toyota. It marked a career-best finish for the 19-year-old Bayne.

MOVING FORWARD -- POINTS PUSH: As the NSCS heads to Daytona International Speedway for the 18th race of the season, Busch and Hamlin remain third and fourth, respectively, in the NSCS point standings. Busch is currently 161 points behind series points leader, and Hamlin sits 185 points out of first-place. Camry drivers Logano (16th), Martin Truex Jr. (18th) and Reutimann (19th) are looking to break into the top-12 with nine races remaining before the 10-race Chase for the championship begins in September.

SUPERSPEEDWAY SUCCESS: Camry drivers return to Daytona this weekend, where Busch won the 2008 summer NSCS race at the 2.5-mile superspeedway. In February, Michael Waltrip Racing (MWR) teammates Reutimann and Truex recorded top-10 finishes for Toyota at the Daytona 500. Reutimann recorded a fifth-place finish in his seventh start at the "World Center of Racing" while Truex earned a sixth-place finish in his first points race in the MWR No. 56 NAPA Camry.

TUNDRA TALLY: Tundra drivers will enjoy another weekend off before the NASCAR® Camping World Truck Series™ (NCWTS) returns to action at Iowa Speedway, July 11. Tundra driver Todd Bodine currently leads the series point standings and holds a 55-point lead over fellow Toyota driver Aric Almirola (second). Timothy Peters (third), Mike Skinner (fifth) and David Starr (eighth) are also representing Toyota in the top-10 in the point standings.

SPONSAFIER 2: The Toyota "Sponsafy Your Ride" contest is back. Sponsafier 2 launched on Sunday, June 20. There are already over 15,400 entries. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity. Visit www.sponsafier.com and design your race car today!

Toyota Racing: Toyota Racing Announces Sponsafier 2!

Weekend Rewind:

ROBBY RALLIES TO RUNNER-UP RESULT: In Sunday afternoon's NASCAR® Sprint Cup Series™ (NSCS) race, Robby Gordon finished second behind race-winner Jimmie Johnson at the 1.99-mile Infineon Raceway road circuit in Sonoma, California.

BRENDAN BEST CAMRY AT ROAD AMERICA: In Saturday's inaugural NASCAR® Nationwide Series™ (NNS) race at Road America, Brendan Gaughan was the highest-finishing Camry driver in the field, finishing third behind race-winner Carl Edwards and runner-up Ron Fellows.

ROOKIE RETURNS: A year ago, 20-year-old rookie Logano earned his first career Cup Series win in just his 20th NSCS start at NHMS in a rain-shortened race. The Middletown, Connecticut-native became the youngest race-winner in series history at 19 years, one month and four days. His crew chief, Greg Zipadelli, kept the JGR No. 20 Home Depot Camry driver on the track when others pitted -- before persistent rain forced NASCAR to call the race after 273 (of 301 scheduled) laps were completed.

CAMRYS CAPTURED CHECKERS: In last year's Nationwide Series race at NHMS, Joe Gibbs Racing teammates Busch (first) and Logano (second) swept the top-two spots at the checkered flag. In 2008, former Toyota driver Tony Stewart earned the first Camry victory at the one-mile oval. Stewart's Toyota was followed to the checkered flag by two additional Camry drivers -- Hamlin (second) and Busch (third).

In the NHRA:

BROWN SURGING: After growing pains with his new team had slowed him at the beginning of the season, Antron Brown appears to be peaking as the series nears the Countdown playoffs. In the last four races, Brown has been the number one qualifier twice. He also progressed to the finals two weeks ago at Englishtown and to the semi-finals this past week in Bristol.

Toyota Racing: Four Wins for Toyota

Hey Toyota Racing Fans,

NHRA's Larry Dixon defeated Antron Brown in an all-Toyota Top Fuel final on Monday at the NHRA SuperNationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, New Jersey, while Dixon's Al-Anabi Racing teammate, Del Worsham, lost in the final to Bob Tasca. For Dixon, the win continues a dominating stretch that has featured five victories in the last seven races and also made him the first driver to clinch a spot in the NHRA Countdown playoffs. Click here for the full story.

Looking Forward:

ROAD COURSE RACERS: The Sprint Cup Series heads to northern California's Infineon Raceway road course for the Toyota/Save Mart 350 this weekend where Camry drivers have collected one win, three top-five finishes and one pole. Last year, Toyota drivers claimed the top-three starting spots with Brian Vickers (first), Busch (second) and Marcos Ambrose (third). Ambrose went on to finish third. In 2009, Busch led 78 (of 112) laps en route to victory lane.

SPONSAFIER CAMRY TO COMPETE: The Toyota Racing "Sponsafy Your Ride" winning design will come to life at Infineon Raceway. Michael Waltrip will enter in the Prism Motorsports No. 55 Toyota Camry with the paint scheme designed by grand prize winner Fay Knape of Danbury, Texas. The "Praying for Karson" race car features highlights of the outdoors where Knape hopes her one-year-old grandson Karson, who was born with Neuroendocrine Cell Hyperplasia in Infancy (NEHI), will one day be able to play without an oxygen tank. Over 77,500 fans submitted designs in the contest, that received more than one million overall votes.

READY TO ROLL: Saturday will mark the first NASCAR race at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, but Toyota drivers have been successful at previous NASCAR races in Wisconsin. The Tundra earned three straight victories (2006-2008) at the Milwaukee Mile with Johnny Benson. Camry drivers have had success on road courses in the NNS with victories at Mexico City (Busch, 2008) and Watkins Glen (Ambrose, 2009) and a pole at Montreal (Ambrose, 2009).

K&N SERIES AT SONOMA: Bill McAnally Racing will field two drivers in this weekend's NASCAR K&N Pro Series West race at Infineon Raceway. The No. 20 NAPA Auto Parts Toyota Camry of Eric Holmes and the No. 12 NAPA Gold Filters Toyota Camry of Paulie Harraka will compete in the Thunder Valley Casino Resort “200” on Saturday, June 19th. For more information on Bill McAnally Racing, click here.

In the NHRA:

DIXON EXPRESS HEADS TO BRISTOL: The Larry Dixon Express rolls into Bristol this week looking for his seventh victory and his sixth in the last eight races. After earning consecutive wins at Chicago and Englishtown the past two weeks, Dixon has now registered a 24-2 elimination round record over the past seven races. In addition, he’s reached the semi-finals or finals in seven consecutive races. He will take a 199-point lead to Bristol.
