Busch Continues Hot Streak; Vickers Battles With the Best at Atlanta |
| In Sunday's 330-lap NASCAR® Sprint Cup Series™ (NSCS) race on the 1.5-mile Georgia oval, Brian Vickers looked poised to drive to victory lane, running down leader Kurt Busch for the final 30 laps before a debris caution with three laps to go set up a green-white-checker finish. The leaders came to pit road for fresh tires for the two-lap shootout, but Vickers, who came in second, restarted sixth. He fought to make up one spot in the No. 83 Red Bull Camry to finish fifth behind winner Busch, Jeff Gordon, Carl Edwards and Kevin Harvick. In Saturday's NASCAR® Camping World Truck Series™ (NCWTS) race, Kyle Busch won for his second consecutive victory in 2009 -- and fourth win in five career starts at Atlanta -- overcoming a faulty transmission in his No. 51 Miccosukee Tundra to charge to the checkered flag, winning Toyota's third race to open the 2009 season.
